AOB: Piet Blaas of the NVHR pointed to me rather correctly - that I did make a writing error, spelled ... in-memooriam - whereas it should be in-memoriam.
Though changing the URL might bring quite some confusion amongst those already using the existing incorrectly spelled word. Therefore my honest Mea Culpa.

Memoriam
Dick passed away on Sunday
24 November 2024
at an age of
81 years.
We are loosing an extra-ordinary person!
Dick started his engagements in our museum about mid of the year 2008; albeit that we met for the first time at a gathering held at Almen (in the "Achterhoek" in Autumn 2007)
The aim of this brief contribution is not providing an exact time-line
but
is providing some, more or less, incidental impressions.

This page has been initiated after I received some photos taken by Anton Kroes
just about the same place where next Sunday afternoon
where people can meet around Dick's coffin.
In the surrounding of Dick's "Zuiderduin"!

Dick in conversation with my wife Karin at Hotel Zuiderduin in 'Egmond aan Zee' in March 2017
Everybody was highly impressed by Tatjana's most spectacular self-designed products
For Dick later in the afternoon it was a rather relieve, after he closed down his Kitchen territory, to take a look at what was intriguing Dick most!
Nearly all European countries operated with the Gladio (Stay-Behind) set of the same type
This one was made by AEG
But whether neutral or being NATO members, among them were also Switzerland and the Scandinavian Countries operated in since mid 1980s up to the (temporary) end of the Cold War Episode.
Except crew-members nobody else was entitled to enter Dick Zijlman's kitchen territory!
Of course, all those supporting our endeavours, especially females were allowed to join the party
This photograph has been taken in December 2019, after Dick was ready with his regular duties and he got time for conversations, particularly with friends
In conversation with our former Foundation board member Derk Rouwhorst
Dick apparently is quite upset; that someone he doesn't want him to be in his empire, is without his permission is searching in what aren't his belongings!
Dick and I
(AOB) gave a special present to now late Bernhard Terlingen
A special newly sold CD audio cassette of restored life tape Concert Recordings
during Wartime Days, by the Berliner Philharmoniker.
Bernard was then rather confused.
Dick's career started at the Dutch PTT
Where he, as almost every 'young men' was trained in trunk- and big (exchanging systems) wirings.
He complained my way of accomplishing and he forced me to accept his proper way of modern cabling.
Of course first it necessitated new cabling plans which Dick meticulously accomplished!
This work started after some due considerations in Springtime 2010.
My way of wiring is still visible in the background, which quite differed from Dick's ideas about sound wiring!
No doubt, Dick was doing it right as it is being "State of the Art"
Controlling a Würzburg System is demanding quite some wiring provisions!
Without proper schematics this is impossible. NA 62 II
NA 62 II provides - 2.4 kV as well as ca. 400 DC and the filament V of the LS 180
Our substitute reconstruction of: NA I 62 being opened; it's main purpose is to provide the + 8 kV HT
On top of it stands an (H&B) electro-static 10 kV voltmeter.
An electrostatic voltmeter is quasi consuming no energy, as the electro-mechanical force is deflecting the meter pointer and no dc current is 'flowing'.
Also the 8 kV line is somewhere being integrated in our wiring system. Of course, the necessary safety-precaution (care) is being taken!
The Wiring is reaching nearly its final stage
Dick's wiring has nearly reached it final stage
The FuG 62 d is operating again via a dummy-load
The final Perspex (acrylic) cover wasn't yet available, but soon hereafter it was.

Some time later this morning Paul Reuvers did sent some additional photographs which I would like to attach instantly:
